A Year in the Life: Capturing the Heart of Your Family’s Story

I wish I could spend all my time behind the camera, simply documenting the lives of families in my community. But I’ve learned the hard way that being seen—making sure people know about the work I do—takes effort. The truth is, I’m not a business expert. I didn’t build this photography career out of a love for marketing or strategy. I built it because I believe in remembering.

Photography, for me, has always been about holding onto the moments that shape us. I am deeply tied to my own life’s story, and I’ve built this business on the idea that other people feel the same. That’s how Year in the Life was born.

What is Year in the Life Photography?

Life doesn’t happen in just one session. It’s a story that unfolds over time, through seasons of joy, growth, challenges, and celebration. Year in the Life allows me to document that journey, capturing your family as you truly are—the everyday moments, the quiet connections, and the milestones that deserve to be remembered.

Sessions can be monthly, bi-monthly, or seasonally, depending on what fits your family’s rhythm. Traditionally, Year in the Life starts in January, crafting a visual “yearbook” of your family’s annual journey—but it doesn’t have to. Maybe your story starts with a new beginning: the birth of a child, a senior year, a marriage, or another milestone that shapes your family’s history. We begin where your story begins.
